This may be old news to some of you guys, but I was watching an episode of Adam-12, from 1969, I believe. The stars of the show, (2 cops) were riding in their car, and one of them told the other the Yellow dog story. I usually skip the story on Dead shows but I went back and listened and it was the same joke. The dog was an alligator with its tail cut off and painted yellow. The most unfunny joke I think Ive ever heard

I remeber watching Adam 12 when I was a kid. The other day I was walking around the office building where I work and someone had an autographed picture of the actor with curly black hair that was in that show Engine 51 or something like that. Does anyone else remember that show. They were EMT's that worked out of a fire house. I laughed out load when I saw the picture. When I a kid this was must see TV.

Emergency? Rampart!

Blue Boy episode of Dragnet still my favorite; a 60's suburban Trainspotting. Makes me think of this:

That's exactly what I don't get about Wikipedia: who the hell wakes up and realizes that there is no entry for "emergency" in Wikipedia and decides it is their life-calling to rectify the situation?

Just askin',

Yeah thats the one bluedevil! I will never forget the episode when Johnny is climbing down a cliff to complete a rescue and the flu hits him real hard. He had to be rescued too. Life changing moment for me. Man that was good TV!

Although it may be "unfunny," I still have a favorite version. The only split Yellow Dog?

Yellow Dog Pt. 1> Schoolgirl> Yellow Dog Pt. 2

I guess I also meant to ask, does anyone think the joke is funny? The Adam 12 episode was based on how unfunny the joke was. It actually angered the character on the show as it was so painfully unfunny

It's funny in a groaning kind of way. I think the one from 4/12/69 is funny because Bobby sounds so fucked up he can't remember it, and because Pig sweeps in and steals the lame punchline.

How many times did Bob tell that joke?

On a related note, when did the stage banter and jokes stop? At least, I presume it did in the later years.

It never stopped, just became a rarity...listen to the last three minutes at end of the lazy river road track
